In honor of School Board Recognition Month, Frenship ISD staff and students made a special presentation to their board members Monday night at the January meeting.

Congratulations to all the students in the Frenship FFA program who performed in the annual Frenship Local Stock Show on Saturday, January 5 at the Frenship Ag Barn.

Dr. LeAnn Fisher Ed.D has been named the district’s Director of Assessment and Accountability, and Jennifer Pierce has been named principal of Willow Bend Elementary.

The FISD Board of Trustees unanimously accepted the recommendation of Roy Bassett, a 32-year law enforcement veteran with the Lubbock Police Department, as the district’s new chief of police.

Elementary students across the district developed their coding skills during Computer Science Education Week

On the eve of December 7, “a date that will live in infamy” according to President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 5th grade dual-language class at Willow Bend Elementary School prepared to educate others about the people and events of World War II.

Kindergarten students showed off their homemade cars, buses, planes and more while Pre-K students modeled their “community helper” costumes. Supportive students, parents, staff and community members were present to watch the parade.
