Frenship ISD Casey Administration Building Hosts Annual SPED Halloween Frenzy

The Halloween Frenzy is an annual tradition at Central Office and is always a hit with students and staff. This year, more than 220 students from Special Education, Life Skills, and FOCUS programs joined in on the fun.

This year’s decoration themes ranged from Despicable Me, Mario Brothers, Space, Dinosaurs, Monsters Inc., Adams Family, and more!

Most often, Special Education students are not able to participate in traditional trick-or-treating events on Halloween. Jennifer Pierce, Director of Special Education, believes that the annual Central Office Halloween Frenzy creates a sense of inclusion and community for both students and families.

“The Halloween Frenzy such a special event because it creates opportunities for students to participate in a fun, inclusive experience that is designed with their unique needs in mind," Pierce said. "For many of our students, community-based and sensory-friendly events like this provide meaningful opportunities to practice social skills, communication, and independence while simply enjoying the excitement of being a kid. This event is also incredibly important for families. It allows parents and caregivers to see their children engaged, successful, and celebrated in an environment where they are understood and supported. The smiles, excitement, and memories created during the event often extend far beyond the day itself."

Special Education students are seen laughing, clapping, smiling, and squealing with joy, as they walk through each office’s elaborate decorations. Central Office staff have just as much fun meeting each of the students.

“One of the most meaningful aspects of the Halloween Frenzy is the interaction between district staff and students," Pierce said. "Every costume compliment, high-five, conversation, and shared laugh helps build connections and reminds our students that they are valued members of the Frenship family."

The Spooky Frenzy is more than a Halloween event. It is an opportunity to celebrate our students, strengthen relationships, and create joyful experiences that make a lasting impact on both students and their families.

Pierce wants to extend her gratitude to all staff who make this annual event possible each year.

“We are so grateful and thankful for our Casey staff that continue to go above and beyond to give our students such a wonderful experience,” said Pierce. “These positive interactions foster a sense of belonging and demonstrate our district’s commitment to serving and supporting every student."
