For the second year in a row, a Frenship elementary student is headed to the National Spanish Spelling Bee. Over the weekend, Willow Bend Elementary fifth grader Sara Patino took home first place in the Lubbock Spanish Spelling Bee Championship, securing a spot at the national competition hosted in Denver, Colorado in July 2021.

Earlier this week, Stephani Campbell, Behavior Intervention Specialist, sent out a newsletter to teachers and staff with useful tips on dealing with holiday behaviors in the classroom. The newsletter was full of ways to keep students engaged as well as resources for teachers to use for additional assistance.

The pandemic is already stressful, let us handle the meals! Frenship ISD and Aramark are excited to announce that breakfast and lunch will be FREE for all students across the District starting December 1, 2020 through the end of this school year.

As of November 12, 2020, Frenship ISD will remove the Early Releases for elementary and middle school campuses only on December 17 and 18. By going to school for the full day on these two days, Frenship will be able to add back 240 instructional minutes and will remain in compliance with the State’s instructional minute requirements with little disruption to the academic calendar.

Tiger Tech Squad started as an iPad program that encouraged teachers to utilize a new set of iPads, but the technology innovation group has quickly grown and evolved into much more.

Frenship High School senior, Noah Ivie, wore a GoPro video camera during one of the bands performances back in October. When he posted his video to YouTube, he had no idea that it would serve Lori Dulaney’s elementary school music classes - in Arkansas!

Second grade students across the Lubbock area, including each Frenship elementary campus, listened to volunteers read the book “The Word Collector” by author and illustrator, Peter H. Reynolds. Frenship was not the only school district to enjoy the event - over 3,500 students from 190 area schools participated.

The Covenant Health Foundation and Covenant Children’s Hospital partnered with Frenship, as well as schools across Region 17, to donate over 90,000 gaiter style masks to each and every student.

Kelsie Watts recently performed for the blind auditions round of the singing competition show, The Voice. Her performance turned the chairs of Kelly Clarkson and Gwyn Stefani, but it was Team Kelly that Watts selected.
