My name is Christen Crooks and I am a Reading Interventionist here at Willow Bend! I work on reading skills with Kindergarten through 5th grade students. This is my 2nd year as Reading Interventionist, my 6th year at Willow Bend, and my 14th year teaching. I have taught Kindergarten and 1st grade and have a passion for teaching beginning reading skills.

 

I grew up in Amarillo, Texas before moving to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University. I graduated from Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and then again with a Master’s degree in Elementary Education.  I am married and have 2 wonderful boys here with me at Willow Bend!

 

I am excited to help Willow Bend students grow in their reading ability and to move from the "learning to read" stage to the "reading to learn" stage!
